FAQs

Q?

What makes Cornerstone Kids different from all of the other child care facilities like Primrose, Kindercare, or Goddard schools?

A.

Most of these facilities are environmentally unprotected. Cornerstone Kids incorporates the physical building and educational advantages designed to protect our kids environmentally, strengthening their confidence through accelerated, individual focused attention in their classwork and their creative endeavors, all while introducing them to the leaders of their community through our community outreach program.

Q?

Is an environmentally focused facility that much more important when it comes to child care needs in the marketplace?

A.

Remembering that something is measured “Good” or “Bad” only by comparison – we ask you to compare our facility plan, our child service & environmental protection plan and our family dinner plan with other child care facilities you know. The market need is immense as families want, but have no clue how to find, child care with quality staffing, without constant teacher turnover, and a proactive plan to provide an environmentally safe fresh facility protecting their child while stimulating their child’s mind and creativity.

Q?

With the elevated costs of “green facilities” construction, how can Cornerstone Kids afford to stay in business?

A.

Cornerstone Kids capacity is 150 children. Currently, we have almost 100 kids on our paid waiting list. It is estimated that on operational Day 1, we will be at full capacity with hundreds of kids on our waiting list. This projection equates to a child care business that is cash flow positive and profitable in its first month of operation with no signs of an open spot at any time in its operational future thereby creating an ongoing month-to-month cash flow positive and profitable business.

Q?

Why so much emphasis on air quality?

A.

Some kids spend up to 12 hours a day in child care facilities whose environment does not care for their health and well-being. The air within a Cornerstone Kids facility is free from airborne contaminants - toxins and chemicals which pollute a child's body with each breath. The Department of Energy’s airPLUS and Smart Ventilation programs environmental improvements mean an airtight facility removing airborne contaminants as small and viscous as the flu virus. We've taken every building advancement available and spared no expense to build the environment every Cornerstone Kid deserves.

Q?

What’s all the hype about ZERO Energy and Green building technology?

A.

As part of our Green initiative, Cornerstone Kids will be a ZERO Energy facility. We will be connected to the same city power grid as everyone else, the difference is that we expect to sell energy back to the power grid rather than pay for our power. The design and operation of our facility includes water, power and backup resources making Cornerstone Kids independent and a strong supporter of our environment and our kids.

Q?

How does Cornerstone Kids’ programs affect working parents schedules?

A.

Daily we focus on your family. Our parents work hard and hustle leveraging their after-work hours, juggling their commute, the after-school activities of the kids, a healthy dinner and quality evening time each workday waiting for their days off to relax and enjoy their family. We understand the creative balancing act performed weekly by our parents. We offer, at as close to our cost as is possible to calculate, a healthy dinner at the end of each workday enabling parents more time to interact as a family. In addition, we provide activities like ballet, gymnastics, martial arts, music lessons, theater and more. We incorporate these activities, along with after school curriculum featuring the Khan Academy for older kids into the time before their parents pick them up after work. Thus, our parents can drive at a safe rate of speed, not worrying about traffic or getting off work late to be on time so their kids can change to make the start of their after-work ballet class. Rather, Cornerstone Kid’s after school activities can be completed before parent pick-up.

Q?

What would you say summarizes Cornerstone Kids’ value proposition as the new standard in daycare/child care?

A.

If everything else is equal and your child is safer, drinks cleaner safer water, breathes fresh contaminant free air in an airtight mold and mildew free, green energy building with green certified safe furnishings offering the after-school activities already used by our family while offering a fresh hot dinner for four at the end of each workday, why wouldn’t you want your child to enroll at Cornerstone Kids?

Cornerstone Kids is a child care facility, but other child care facilities will not be a Cornerstone Kids facility. We mean to invite comparison, as excellence is a standard used to compare others. Cornerstone Kids anticipates it will be different in every measurable way. Only facilities built to the same exacting standards as the Cornerstone Kids facility can create a comparable foundation. Consider that in some cases, "children using inhalers will be able to rid themselves of their inhalers," says the US Department of Energy Chief Architect, Sam Rashkin. Many parents have told us that their current child care facility 'warehouses' their kids rather than making productive use of the time spent waiting for their parents to pick them up after work. Cornerstone Kids will spend their time productively enjoying activities and instruction from math to the arts. Outside and inside, our kids will be exposed to creative, mind expanding opportunities to test themselves finding new interests they may not have thought would have been of interest to them. Our littles will be enveloped in the freshest air quality environment possible featuring safe Green Certified furniture. The difference between Cornerstone Kids and other Aiken child care facilities will be significant and measurable every time you walk inside our doors.
